Medical Massage is covered by your medical insurance provider in most cases. If you have been in an auto accident, workers' compensation claim, slip and fall claim, or any litigation involving physical injury, you may be eligible for medical massage therapy that is covered by your medical insurance carrier. Most of our patients are referred by medical providers including your primary healthcare provider, medical doctor, surgeon, or chiropractor. If you are not referred, your insurance carrier will be contacted to determine if you are covered. If you are covered, your insurance carrier will be billed for your care. If you are not covered by your insurance carrier other arrangements for payment can be made.Donald Harris has been certified as a Master Medical Massage Therapist by the L.M.T. Success Group, Inc. and the NCBTMB. He has taken intensive training in the techniques of unlocking the constriction of ischemic tissue and restoring normal function to the affected soft tissue. What is Medical Massage? Medical Massage is not to be confused with what is commonly known in massage terminology as "Spa Massage." In Spa Massage, the client's massage is timed based. The client comes in and gets a 45 minute massage for a certain fee.
Medical Massage is "outcome" based. The massage therapist targets his/her techniques toward a specific and identifieable injury or ailment of the body. The Medical Massage Therapist typically receives a prescription from a medical doctor. The Medical Massage Therapist works from that prescription to utilize certain massage techniques to bring the body's healing power to that area of concern. For instance, if the patient has a rotator cuff injury of the right shoulder, the Medical Massage Therapist will only work on the right shoulder for the number of treatments prescribed in the prescription.
Adaptive Healthcare Services will work with your medical provider and insurance carrier as part of the treatment team. Your insurance carrier should cover the majority of your massage fees. If your insurance carrier does not cover your massage treatment, payment arrangement can be arranged. AHCS treat auto accident injuries, workers' compensation, slip and falls, sports injuries, and many soft tissue injuries.
